An
explosion rocks the truck and ground,
Men
are killed and start falling down.
I
look about and see devastation all over,
As
the enemy starts plinking us from cover.
I
run from the scene as fast as I can,
Not
knowing if I am pursued by any man.
I
know not where I will be going,
I
run on blindly while my legs keep on flowing.
I
find a tree from where I take aim,
I
will kill those bastards if it is just the same.
I
cannot let them take any of us away,
So
I turn and fight as the night turns to day.
And
then from behind I hear a yell to freeze me,
I
turn to look and it is not what I wanted to see.
It
is more of those enemy coming for us,
And
one of them are driving a small mini bus.
I
fall down and play dead just in case,
Maybe
they will miss me and not see my face.
I
have training to kill them one and all,
I
am here to protect until the day that I fall.
I
know when they come to take us from here,
They
will torture us and bind us to draw out my fear.
I
will never let them see me cringe in defeat,
And
I vow to avenge my men on the street.
When
they leave this place they cease to believe,
That
someone’s alive with no time to grieve.
My
training kicks in and I start to escape,
How
much of this am I expected to take?
I
find myself face down in the dessert of old,
My
pride restored as I get up so bold.
I
follow the tracks to where the men have been taken,
It
is my honor that will never be forsaken.
I
enter the compound where the men they are held,
I
do what I can to save them from hell.
I
vow to save them no matter the price,
My
life is expendable though it doesn’t seem nice.
I
saved my men from a certain doom and fate,
They
are alive and healthy to date.
I
am no hero just a man all the same,
I
am the soldier without any name.
